A JOINT PROGRAM OF ADVOCATES
13.09.2016 17:51In the September of 2016 the Foundation for International Legal Cooperation(IRZ) and the Chamber of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia started a joint program, in the frames of which is assigned the conducting of running retraining lectures for advocates of the regions.
In the frames of the mentioned initiative the first retraining lectures on the topic of "the European Convention of Human Rights" were conducted for advocates from Shirak, Lori, Tavush and Gegharkunik regions on the 10-th, 12-th and 13-th of September 2016 in Gyumri and Dilijan towns.
The retraining lectures were conducted by an invited expert from Munich, advocate, doctor Thomas Napper, and local expert, advocate Tigran Safaryan.
At the lectures doctor Napper presented common information about the European Court of Human Rights, structural and organizational features and the peculiarities of court cases examination.
Thomas Napper also introduced to the advocates the precedential practice of the ECHR concerning the 5-th, 6-th and 6(3) articles of the European Convention of Human Rights, as also discussed with the advocates the state issues concerning the noted norms.
Advocate Tigran Safaryan talked about proceedings instituted against Armenia by the European Court of Human Rights, presenting statistical data concerning their examination, as also the peculiarities of the Armenian Republic representation activity in the European Court of Human Rights.
In the three lectures of retraining took part totally eighty-two advocates from Shirak, Lori Tavush and Gegharkunik regions.
Let us also note, that the active cooperation between the Chamber of Advocates of RA and the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ) started from 2014. The German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ) was established in 1992 by the initiative of the German ministry of justice as an institution providing expert advice on legal issues to European and post-Soviet countries.
At present the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ) in the frames of Armenian program provides assistance in two directions: the development and improvement of legislation, as also in the direction of organizing qualification improvement lectures conducted by German experts for different beneficiaries of legal sphere (judges, advocates, notaries, lecturers staff and students of law faculty of higher institutions, as also young advocates realizing their activity in other spheres).
The German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ) on the22.08.2016 has been accreditated for one year by the Council of the Chamber of Advocates of RA as an organization realizing advocates' retraining.
