The Qualification Commission
General information

The Qualification Commission of the Chamber of Advocates is formed with the purpose of organizing the qualification exams and summarizing their results.

The Qualification Commission of the Chamber of Advocates shall be formed for a term of two years with the membership of eight and with the following proportion of representation:

1) The Chairman of the Chamber of Advocates,  who is ex officio considered to be the Chairperson of the Qualification Commission

2) Four advocates elected by the Board of the Chamber of Advocates defined by the Charter of the Chamber of Advocates

3) One representative from the Ministry of Justice of RA assigned by the Minister of Justice of the RA

4) One academic lawyer from the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia assigned  by the head of that institution

5) One judge from the Court of Cassation of the Republic of Armenia (hereinafter referred to as “the Court of Cassation”) upon submission of the President of the Court of Cassation.

Hearings of the Qualification Commission of the Chamber of Advocates are convened by the Chairperson of the Qualification Commission.

Four members of the Qualification Commission are elected  from  the list of the  advocates with valid license by the Board of the  Chamber  upon nomination  of the  Chairman of The Chamber of Advocates. In case of not election of the advocate presented by the Chairman of The Chamber , a new candidate is nominated within 5 days , and if the latter is not elected as well, this time the members of the Chamber nominate the candidate. The candidate is considered to be elected if the two third of the members present vote in favor of him.

The authorities of the Board of the Chamber of Advocates, the order of convening hearings, and the issues which are not regulated with the Charter of The Chamber of Advocates  are regulated with  the order of getting and passing the qualification exams, adopted by the Board of the Chamber.

2. Hunan Ter-Vardanyan, PhD in law, advocate

3. Arsen Sardaryan, PhD in law, advocate

4. Armine Fanyan, advocate

5. Garnik Tukhtaryan, advocate

6. Artyom Sujyan, representative of The Ministry of  Justice  of RA,  Head of the Legal Support Department of The Ministry of Justice of RA

7. Armen Shukuryan, PhD in law, representative of  the Academy of Sciences of RA, senior researcher of the institute of philosophy, sociology and right of the Academy of Sciences of RA.

8. Arthur Poghosyan, representative of the Court of Cassation of RA, Judge in  the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation of the Republic of Armenia.
