The office of the Public Defender of RA jointly with the OSCE and ABA (American Bar Association) organized the two-day’ practical discussion concerning the project of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

The initiative included the representatives of legal realm, judges, investigators, public defenders.  The aim of the discussion was to join all the sides, as also by means of practical issues   to get acquainted to the changes suggested by the project of the Code.   

The discussions were led by Ph.D., associate professor of the faculty of Law of the Yerevan State University, the member of the working group involved in the development of the new Criminal Code of RA, advocate Anna Margaryan.
The specialists reverted to legal qualification of crimes against person’s life and health, discussing some issues concerning the aggravating circumstances of homicide.    

Thoughts were exchanged concerning bringing to suicide, causing aggravated damage to health, and legislative formulations of death caused by carelessness. The two-day’ discussions agenda also involved issues of practical character concerning   legal qualification of crimes against private property.
