The criminal executive institution “Armavir” of the MJ of RA on the 14.02.2017 refused in  visitation of the incarcerated person Jirayr Sefilyan   to his defender Mushegh  Shushanyan.

According to advocate Mushegh Shushanyan the CEI didn’t allow him to visit the defendant as the  advocate had refused to present the documents that he had with him to the   employees of the CEI for their further investigation on the matter of their implication to the criminal case.

The Chamber of Advocates of RA in its letter from 15.02.2017 addressed to the Minister of Justice of RA noted that the norms of the order that the CEI does appeal to while performing the action of getting other documents from the advocate that do not refer to the materials of the criminal case is impossible to perform without getting acquainted with the content of all the documents. By such an action the employees of the CEI will get an actual opportunity to get to know other materials that may contain attorney secrets, as also, on not having necessary knowledge or information, estimate the relation of the documents to the criminal case on their own.

According to the position of the Chamber of Advocates of RA this kind of CEI employees’ behavior does contradict to the   Constitution of RA, international agreements and internal laws.
