THE RESULTS OF THE REGULAR COMMON SESSION (APPOINTED ON THE 11.02.2017) OF THE CHAMBER OF ADVOCATES OF RA ON THE AGENDA OF THE VOTE ON DEFINING “AN ADVOCATE’S DAY” HAVE BEEN SUMMARIZED
12.02.2017 04:52On the 11.02.2017 took place the regular common session of the Chamber of Advocates of RA on the agenda of which had been included three issues:
● the election of the members of the Bar Council of the Chamber of Advocates of RA
● the election of persons responsible for the disciplinary work of the Chamber of Advocates of RA
● the issue of defining “An Advocate’s Day”
The Estimates Committee of the Chamber of Advocates of RA has summarized the results of the common session on the issue of the agenda about defining “An Advocate’s Day”.
In the ballot paper of the common session the variants presented for defining the “Advocate’s Day” were the 2-nd of June, the 11-th of June, the 18-th of June, the 9-th of November, the 6-th of December and the 14-th of December.
According to the bylaw of the Chamber of Advocates the regular session could be considered as accomplished and the “Advocate’s Day” would be defined if the evident majority of the total quantity of the advocates having the right of participation in the session would vote for any of the presented variants.
According to the notification number 1 of the Estimates Committee from 11.02.2017 the right of participation in the session did have 1780 advocates; according to the signatures of the voting list, ballot papers had been received by 1163 advocates, though for the presented variant of defining the “Advocate’s Day” on the 2-nd of June there was the majority of votes, that are 298 votes of advocates, according to the regulations, that wasn’t enough for this variant to be considered as an accepted one.
By the aforementioned estimation the Estimates Committee of the Chamber of Advocates of RA by the Decision taken on the 12.02.2017 num. L-1-A considered the issue of the agenda on “the question of discussion on the “Advocate’s Day” definition” as invalid, in the result of which “The Advocate’s Day” wasn’t defined.
