THE DIVORCE HAS PSYCOLOGICAL EFFECTS ON CHILDREN.ADVOCATE. TERT.AM
02.06.2015 11:27Both national and international laws regulate protection of children’s rights, but practical application of the laws encounters problems, Marine Farmanyan, lawyer for the Public Defender told reporters on June 1, Children’s Day.
She points out problems with payment of alimony. In many cases, fathers are ready to pay the alimony, but they are unable to. In other cases, men evade payment of alimony because they have other families.
“The law cannot make parents equally love all their children,” Ms Farmanyan said.
She also spoke of a higher number of registered divorces. The reason is more officially registered marriages and social conditions.
“Divorce will inevitably have a negative psychological effect on children,” Ms Farmanyan said.
