"NO TO VIOLENCE", "AN ASSAILANT IS NOT A POLICEMAN" it was with these calls that the advocates’ protest to the Central Police Department started from the Chamber of Advocates.

The main goal of the march was to break the silence adopted by the state authorities after learning about the violence against the advocates.

Taking into consideration that one of the main goals and tasks of the Chamber of Advocates is to protect the rights and legal interests of its members in relations with the state, local self-government bodies and organizations, the Chamber makes all possible efforts to ensure the above and to maintain the important role of the advocate institute.

The advocates, united around the same goal, reiterated with calls during the march that the protest actions are being carried out in order to eliminate the existing obstacles to the implementation of the advocates’ professional activity, to ensure the effective protection of the violated rights of advocates and to give a proper criminal-legal evaluation of the created situation.

During the previous days, the advocates presented a demand both during various actions and in writing to the Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan, with a call to eradicate violence from the police system, in particular, to immediately terminate the powers of the policemen who participated in the beating of the advocate, as well as the head of the Central Police Department of the Yerevan.

Because the demands of the advocates were not paid attention to, they decided not to go empty-handed to the Central Police Department and prepared a gift for the head of the department.

The advocates presented boxing gloves to the head of the Central Police Department, hoping that the eloquent gift would express all the appeals and demands.

The gift, of course, expressed the fact that "AN ASSAILANT IS NOT A POLICEMAN" and any violence should not go unpunished.
